Your mission

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Enterprise customers do not buy Physical AI as a product. They invest in it as a strategic platform decision that reshapes how their operations, IT, and automation landscape work together.

The Wandelbots Enterprise Architect role exists to:

  • Translate business ambition and competitiveness goals into platform value
  • Design enterprise-ready architectures with customers
  • Create trust, clarity, and alignment across business, IT, and OT stakeholders
  • Enable scalable adoption of software-defined automation and Physical AI

This role is critical in turning strategic interest into board-approved platform decisions. Reporting to: CRO (dotted line to Product & Engineering). As Enterprise Architect, you act as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers during the sales and early adoption journey.

You bridge:

  • Business strategy and platform value
  • Executive ambition and technical reality
  • Proof of Value and long-term enterprise architecture

Your work ensures that Wandelbots is positioned as a foundational platform, not an isolated solution.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Business-to-Platform Translation

  • Translate customer business goals (cost, flexibility, resilience, growth) into platform value narratives, architecture principles, and adoption and expansion logic
  • Support Sales in executive-level value conversations
  • Ensure technical discussions always connect back to measurable business outcomes

Enterprise Architecture Design

  • Co-create enterprise architectures with customers, spanning cloud, edge, and operational environments
  • Design target architectures for software-defined automation, Physical AI integration, and scalable, multi-site operations
  • Align Wandelbots NOVA with enterprise IT standards, security and governance requirements, and cloud and shopfloor environments

Maturity Assessment & Capability Frameworks

  • Develop and evolve technology-agnostic capability frameworks
  • Lead highly interactive maturity assessment workshops with business leaders, IT architects, and automation experts
  • Identify gaps, constraints, and transformation levers across technology, organization, governance, skills, and operating model

Transformation Roadmaps & Value Realization

  • Design enterprise transformation roadmaps with a phased adoption approach, risk mitigation strategy, and value realization plan
  • Ensure roadmaps are realistic, scalable, and anchored in customer P&L logic

Expansion & Business Development Support

  • Identify expansion opportunities across use cases, sites, and regions
  • Support Sales and Partner teams in building expansion narratives, developing business cases, and structuring long-term framework agreements
  • Act as architectural continuity across the customer lifecycle

Your profile

Experience & Background

  • Strong experience as Enterprise Architect, Solution / Platform Architect, or IT Transformation Architect
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale ERP, cloud, or platform transformation programs at enterprise level (e.g. SAP S/4HANA, Azure, AWS, ServiceNow, Salesforce or similar)
  • Experience in customer-facing pre-sales or advisory roles: workshops, business cases, architecture reviews with C-level stakeholders
  • Background in or significant exposure to manufacturing, industrial, or logistics enterprise environments — you understand how business and IT connect at scale in complex operations
  • Familiarity with platform and ecosystem-based models, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise governance
  • Ideally based in: Rhine-Main, Munich, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, or Cologne/Bonn

Nice to have

  • Exposure to OT environments, shopfloor realities, or industrial automation — from the IT or consulting side
  • Experience with EA frameworks and tooling (TOGAF, ArchiMate, LeanIX)
  • Background working at or with a technology scale-up or product company

Skills & Strengths

  • Ability to operate credibly with board-level stakeholders, CIO / CDO / CTO organizations, and engineering teams
  • Strong facilitation and workshop leadership skills
  • Excellent abstraction and structuring capability — you turn complexity into clarity
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and shaping clarity without a playbook

Mindset

  • Business-outcome driven, not technology-first
  • Platform thinker, not project executor
  • Curious, fast-learning, and energized by new domains — you pick up context quickly and go deep where it matters
  • Strong sense of ownership in a high-velocity environment
  • You thrive in a scale-up where your work shapes direction, not just delivers to spec
